So, the first thing that you should consider is what your dad likes to do for fun. Is he outdoorsy and likes to hike? Is he the grill master of the fam? A master craftsman that loves tools? Gifts feel that much more special when they have a sweet meaning behind them, it shows that you really put in effort. For the outdoorsy dad, maybe get him camping or hiking gear, or a new pair of shoes. For the grill master, maybe a funny apron or grilling set! And, one can never have too many tools so maybe pick him up a few of those, too.
Now for the really hard to shop for dad -- simple things like new tennis shoes or sandals, a watch, or a pair of sunglasses would be great. These are things that they will love, but may not buy for themselves. The most important thing to remember is that they will love whatever you pick out for them, just because it came from you.
