How to Accessorize Your Prom Look

Happy April, everyone! Prom season is officially taking off and we are so excited to see all of the gorgeous prom photos! It is so fun to help girls find their dream dress and then see the whole look come together for a fabulous prom night! Who else is excited?! Well, now that you probably have your dress, it is time to accessorize. Jewelry, shoes and even hair accessories really make a prom style go from drab to fab! Jewelry adds sparkle and sometimes gives you a little pop of color! Earrings are typically a go-to when it comes to prom jewelry, and the rest, necklaces and bracelets can be added depending on your dress! The neckline of your dress is definitely a deciding factor when it comes to jewelry. For dresses with a sweetheart neckline, you can do earrings and a necklace, or just some earrings. For high neck, halter styles, you would probably only want to do some medium size earrings and a bracelet. Medium size earrings will be big enough to sparkle and be seen, but will not be too big or overpowering. The color of jewelry is totally up to you! If you are wearing a neutral like white or black, you can definitely go with a brighter hue like red or pink to jazz up the look! Shoes are such a fun part of accessorizing your prom ensemble. Often times, your shoes will not be seen much if you have a floor-length gown, but if you have a slit, your shoes will be seen, so you have lots of options! Whether you are wanting to go with some fierce platforms, a gorgeous wedge, or flat sandals, your shoes do not have to be boring! Silver or gold shoes will typically work with most dresses, but it can also be fun to do a bright color! Or, if you are wearing a more simple style or a sassy short look, you can always go with some fun patterned pumps! The choices of shoes is totally your preference and the options are plentiful! Hair accessories like beaded clips and sparkly barrettes are making a comeback! Prom would be the perfect time for you to try out the trend! Sleek hair styles, accented with a hair clip or two can really set your look apart from all the rest! The bottom line is, have fun with your accessories and have even more fun at prom!
