Happy February! When you first think of February, Valentine’s Day probably pops into your head immediately. Well, before we get to Valentine’s Day, we have Groundhog day! Tomorrow, February 2nd is Groundhog Day! Groundhog Day is often forgotten once we get out of elementary school. Those days were full of fun little crafts all about groundhogs, but now it’s a day that kinda slips through the cracks. For those who do not know, Groundhog Day is when we find out how much longer winter will be for that year. If the Groundhog comes out of the ground and sees its shadow, it is predicted that there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If he does not see his shadow, spring is sure to come soon! This little holiday seems silly but it is always fun to make a prediction and see how it plays out in the months to come. So, with Groundhogs Day so close, what are you hoping for? Do you want him to see his shadow and the winter weather to continue, or are you ready for it to start warming up? We are predicting that the groundhog does not see his shadow and spring will be here soon! It may be more of a hope than a prediction, but we are excited to see how it goes. The winter months are always so fun, but after a while the winter weather gives us the winter blues. Lots of rain, snow, and brisk temperatures are only fun for so long. Bring on the sunshine and the comfortable temperatures! We are ready for the flowers to start blooming to uplift our spirits! We are predicting that spring will be here soon, so we are anxiously awaiting Groundhog Day! Will the groundhog see his shadow and bring more winter weather, or will he stay out of hiding and give us some spring serenity? We are ready to find out!
