Met Gala Looks We Love

Last night was the annual Met Gala and you had better believe we were glued to social media watching all of our favorite stars make an entrance. The Met Gala is an annual fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City, and celebrates the beginning of the Costume Institute’s fashion exhibit each year. The event is always themed, so we typically see celebrities sporting elaborate fashion with a twist; this year the theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”. While all of the looks were breathtaking, these were a few of our favorites! Amanda Seyfried was definitely one of the highlights of the night. She stunned in a mustard yellow asymmetrical gown; the one shoulder pleated gown was completed by a longer separate bell sleeve and gold embellishments at the waistline. Amanda added touches of delicate jewelry and a golden headpiece that stayed with the theme of the night. The entire look had a very romantic feel that was made complete with loose waves in her hair. We loved Amanda’s look because it worked well together and she stayed with the theme without going overboard! Kendall Jenner also wowed us with a monochromatic statement. She chose a white off the shoulder jumpsuit with gloves. The long mesh gloves gave a nod to the theme, while also staying on trend with sheer. She chose a handful of silver rings and long crystal earrings as accessories, and her white open-toed heels complete the monochromatic look. Our favorite aspect of this look was the train on the pant legs- it added elegance and originality to the jumpsuit. Blake Lively was easily the best look of the night. According to online reports, the train on her dress took over 600 hours to make, and had so much material that she had to arrive to the Gala via bus! Her gown had a fully beaded multicolor top, and a wine skirt. Along the skirt was gold embroidery and down each of her legs was sheer wine mesh. The train stole the show, stretching well over four feet. Blake paired her ornate gown with gold bangles and earrings, as well as a golden halo headpiece.
