Stars Making an Entrance at the 2019 Meta Gala
Spotted: celebs bringing out all of the stops for one of the year’s biggest events. #namethatshow! The Met Gala took place last night, and we are still star-struck over the fabulous fashion that graced the carpet. Each year, the Met Gala has a theme, this time around it was “Camp: Notes on Fashion”. And they aren’t talking about hiking boots and sleeping bags. This theme was inspired by an essay from 1964, written by writer and activist, Susan Sontag. The theme is meant to channel ironic and exaggerated fashion - and let me tell ya, the celeb guests did not disappoint!
There are so many fabulous ensembles that graced the steps of the Met; it is so hard to just talk about a few. As usual, Lady Gaga came to slay! Gaga stepped out in a captivating Barbie Pink ball gown with dramatic balloon sleeves, a gorgeous head dress, and a long sweeping train. She then shed that layer to a strapless black ball gown and carried a black umbrella. Gaga’s entrance did not stop there; she ditched the black gown for a sleek hot pink number, which she later discarded, as well. The evolution of her look was iconic, and right on par with the Met Gala’s high key spirit.
Zendaya also wowed the crowd in her modern-day Cinderella style. She arrived in a blue multi-shade ball gown, complete with puffy sleeves. She topped off her look with the signature choker, headband and small carriage purse. She truly looked like a princess in her Met Gala ensemble.
Let’s talk about power couples for a quick second. Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra were shining bright in lots of crystals and feathers. These two looked like royalty! Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart were also looking fabulous. Lili went for a high-low look with layered sleeves. Her hair was all up with pretty purple floral accents. Cole went with a sleeveless burgundy suit with a nude button up, accented with flowers.
Last but certainly not least, Kendall and Kylie Jenner certainly looked stunning on the carpet. The sister duo left everyone swooning when they hit the floor with Kylie in lavender and Kendall in firey orange. Kylie wore a nude and lavender strapless style with detached feather sleeves and sleek purple hair. Kendall went full on feathers and beading as well with eccentric feather accents on her gown. Most of the Kardashian-Jenner family made an appearance at the gala and they definitely did not disappoint.
